How to solve Brightness problem in windows 8, 8.1 or 10
Today, we will be having one of the most important topics that we will all be facing after the Windows 10 update. This will be a common problem among those using Windows 10 over their Intel processor-based laptop. The problem is the Brightness button, which does not work after installing Windows 10 or upgrading from an earlier version, such as Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
Step 2: Now you will be promoted to the next sub-window named Device Manager. Here you can see display adapter. Now click on it to expand another menu under it. Now you may see many or a single adapter here.

Before we go to the solution, we would all like to know the reason for this problem. The only reason of this brightness problem is due to the lack of related software drivers. Almost all Intel's latest processors have on-board graphics and graphics drivers that are destroyed during system upgrades. If you are upgrading from Windows 8 or 8.1 to Windows 10, so, this has removed all drivers and programs from the system. This leads to difficulties in the detection of graphics hardware after opening new windows 10.
For the brightness button to work in Windows 10, you must download and install the appropriate drivers. If you are a beginner to Windows platform, you can face the difficulties of installing the same driver. So we give you two easy way to push the brightness button back to window 10. Solution -1 : Brightness issue solved using Device Manager from Control panel
Step 1: Write Device manager in the search box and will notice Device manager above. Now click on this section.
If you notice only Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, Please click right button of you mouse and select Update driver software. I think in a maximum case your problem will be solved here. If it is still persisted then try the following step.
Step 3: Navigate to Other devices tab. There you can see many devices without corresponding drivers. Update them which are closely looking to your display drivers. For eg: “3D video controller” in my case.
Step 3: Sometimes you may require restart your PC/laptop again. Then you will see the result.
If you have a message of success, then you have finished instillation of the integrated graphical driver. In some case, the above method will not be able to download the appropriate software. You can check the device manager for the same drivers again. In my case, after updating the drivers, I get my choice of Intel HD graphics. This will solve the brightness problem on Intel-based laptops.
Solution-2: Brightness problem fixing with 3rd party software
There isn't any reason to be worried if you again fail to solve your brightness problem. Be patient There are many other 3rd party softs that will help you finding your appropriate driver to increase/decrease brightness. In that case try the following methods.
First 3rd party software is 3D chips software
Step 1: Download a famous and renowned 3rd party soft named 3D chip software and install it in your laptop (Internet connection is a must!)
Step 2: After installation, open it. Remember for this your internet should be connected.
Step 3: Now you will see the all the required drivers that are missing in your computer. You will see an alert mark at the right of every missing drivers.
Step 5: Now you will redirect to a page from where you can download the corresponding drivers.
Step 6: Install the drivers after download get completed.
The Second tool is Drivermax
Step 1: Download and install the Drivermax software. This is an effective software to find your appropriate driver.
Step 2: Open the software and click on the “Scan for driver updates” option.
Step 3: Now you can see all the hardware components with missing or outdated drivers.
Step 4: Find out your graphics hardware component from the list and download the drivers.
